Lee began in commercial construction in the Atlanta area as soon as he was old enough to be hired on. Working on projects such as office complexes, restaurants, and Atlanta Hartsfield Airport renovations.
He continued working in residential construction for custom homes and eventually began building on his own.
For the last 18 years, we have traveled the country vending trade shows with our goods.
He began making the puzzles out of scrap hardwoods left over from his custom cabinetry jobs. Really, just for fun and as a hobby. From there he now handcrafts hardwood puzzles, hardwood bowls and necklaces and keyrings.
Many new items / ideas are in the works so check back often to see what’s being debuted.
The Process: All of my puzzles and baskets, etc. are made 100% by hand. They are cut from native and exotic hardwoods that are planed down to around 3/4 - 7/8 inch thick so the puzzles will stand upright like a figurine so they can be displayed when not being worked as a puzzle. Next step - the boards are preliminary hand sanded. Then I cut each puzzle or basket out on a scroll saw. I hand sand each individual puzzle piece and all the tiny nooks and crannies so there are no rough edges and so each piece will slide in and out with ease. Then all pieces of the puzzles are sealed with Danish oil to harden up the wood and seal to help resist fingerprints, etc.
He has also done some custom logo / marketing items for some pretty big companies.
